What
is Vibrational Healing?
When I
started on my quest to understand and answer this question many
years ago I was a practicing Herbalist in Southern California,
living on five acres and growing many of the herbs I used in my
practice. Although I understood that plants had healing
energies and knew the importance of the growing conditions and the
good intentions needed to optimize medicinal qualities, the
discovery that everything;
plants, people, animals,
have energy fields that always surround them opened up a new world
for me and significantly changed my beliefs about disease.
As an Herbalist, I treated symptoms, nourished physiological
systems and believed illness to be psychosomatic, but I didn’t
really understand how this worked. If we hold in anger year
after year until we get sick, where is this anger held? How
does a thought process manifest physically? How can it be
healed? The answer is that
disease
and imbalance start in our human energy field before manifesting
in the physical body. Our human energy fields or
auric layers are a
part of us, our energetic vibration, our light, and these energy
fields need conscious attention and care just as our physical
bodies do. The very center of our energy field holds our
chakra system, chakra
is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel". First, let's take a look
at our human energy field:
There are seven
energetic levels in our human energy field. These
levels surround our physical bodies. Each level is different
in vibrational frequency, color, and texture.
The
first level is called the
etheric body, it exists closest to our physical body,
it deals with physical functioning and physical sensations,
pleasure, pain, taste, smell, seeing and hearing. The
etheric body relates to first chakra.
The second level is called the
emotional body, it
extends out about 3-4” from our physical body. The emotional body
is associated with feelings we have about ourselves. If you
allow feelings about yourself to flow, both positive and negative,
it helps the second level stays in balance. The emotional
body relates to second chakra.
The third level is called the
mental body, it extends out about 6-9” from our
physical body. The mental body is associated with clarity,
rationality and the intuitive mind. Negative thought forms
exist on this level. The mental body is related to third
chakra.
The forth level is called the
astral body; it extends out about 2” from our physical
body. The astral body is associated with the love and joy of
relationships as well as the struggle and pain. This level
is also associated with dreams. The astral body relates to
fourth chakra.
The
fifth level is called the divine
etheric template; it
extends about 2½“ from our physical body. The divine etheric
template is the dimension of
divine will that holds the great evolutionary plan of
humanity and the universe. We have free will to align
ourselves with this divine will, or not. When balanced, we
fell connected to the greater purpose and patterns in our lives.
The divine etheric template relates to the fifth chakra.
The sixth level is called the
celestial body; it extends out about 3” from the
physical body. It is here we feel bliss, ecstasy, devotion,
joy and feel our connection with the entire universe. It is the
vibration of divine love
where we feel unconditional love. We can see the
light and love in everything that exists. We reach this level of
experience through meditation, religion, chanting, and music.
The celestial body relates to the sixth chakra.
The seventh level is called the
Ketheric template; it
extends out about 3½” from our physical body. It is the
vibration of divine mind
where we know perfection in our imperfection. We reach this
level of experience by searching for higher truth in our lives.
The Ketheric body relates to the seventh chakra.
Everybody has the ability to sense energy. Hold the palms of
your hand a few inches apart and wait several minutes, what do you
feel? Heat, tingling, vibration, pulsation? This is
energy.
Now let's look at our chakra system, the
vertical column in our bodies that hold the energy vortexes where
our minds and bodies meet. Understanding the chakra system, as
well as the human energy field, is important when choosing which
vibrational healing therapy is most appropriate for you.

So what is vibrational healing? It's
healing that takes place in our energy fields using remedies and
therapies that address issues of energy blockages and energetic
imbalances in our chakra system and our energy fields. You
can think of it as increasing and strengthening your life force,
or vibration, or
light, on an energetic level.
Every vibrational
medicine embodies a particular energetic frequency, or soul
quality. When we use vibrational remedies to clear
unproductive life patterns and eliminate energetic blockages in
our human energy field, we raise our consciousness and we are able
to function from a point that is closer to the real Self, which
brings a sense of inner harmony. As our conscious awareness
is elevated, our ability to understand and incorporate higher
ideals and healthier life patterns is enhanced.
Vibrational
remedies work on the emotions and spirit. If we are open to
change, their effect can be dramatic, but if we resist the nudge
they give the emotions, they may have little visible effect in the
short run.
Vibrational medicines include homeopathy, flower essences, gem
essences, color, and light therapy, magnetic healing, radionics,
meditation, and visualization. Here is a brief look at some
of these modalities:
Homeopathy comes from the Greek words "homios" meaning similar and
"pathos" meaning suffering... Similar Suffering.
Homeopathic medicine is based on "the Law of Similars" or "like
cures like". This means that the same substance that
produces disease symptoms in a healthy person when given in large
doses, can also cure a sick person with similar symptoms when
given in very diluted doses. Like
cures like. For example, you ingest a
huge amount of
bayberry (Myrica)
and become despondent, irritable, indifferent, gloomy. Your
scalp feels tight, and you have a headache with drowsiness, aching
in the eyeballs, and dull, heavy aching in temples and forehead on
waking in the morning. You have pain and stiffness in the
nape of the neck. Your face is yellow and it itches and
stings. There is a bad taste in your mouth and your nauseous
with a constricted and rough feeling in the throat with a constant
desire to swallow. There is a dull pain in the liver region,
fullness in the stomach and abdomen and loss of appetite.
You have disturbed bad dreams with frequent waking. An ill
person exhibiting these warning signs could be given the
homeopathic remedy Myrica in a diluted dose, based on the
"totality of symptoms". Many homeopathic
remedies deal with the symptom "stiffness in the nape of the
neck", or "disturbed bad dream with frequent waking", it's the "totality
of symptoms" that determine homeopathic remedy
selection.
Homeopathic remedies come in various potencies, or
dilutions. Low potencies are not as
diluted (30X, 12C, 30C) and are for acute conditions and usually
given in frequent doses. Medium potencies are more diluted
(200C, 1M) and are for more chronic conditions with infrequent
dosages, and high potencies, which are very diluted (10M, 10MM)
are usually given in constitutional prescribing where only one
dose is given.
There are hundreds of homeopathic remedies that cover thousands of
symptoms. And there are many different branches of
homeopathy: gemmotherapy, lithotherapy, drainage, biochemical
tissue salts, nosodes, and organotherapy that apply homeopathic
remedies using distinctive therapeutic methodology.
It's
not a good idea to self medicate using homeopathic remedies until
you learn more about them. Some homeopathic remedies are
called polycrests
from
the Greek words "poly" (many) and "crestos" (uses).
Polycrests are remedies with many uses that are used to treat a
wide range of common symptoms. Studying the polycrests is a
good place to start learning about homeopathy.
-
Taking the wrong remedy + the wrong potency = no cure and
aggravation where
the symptoms become more severe
-
Taking the wrong remedy + the right potency = no cure
-
Taking the right remedy + wrong potency = no cure or possible
aggravation
-
Taking the right remedy + right potency = cure
The lower three auric levels relate to the
physical world. Homeopathic remedies in low to
medium potencies (30X, 30C, 200C) are very effective on these
lower levels.
Say you have a headache, why choose a homeopathic remedy over a
product you could pick up at the market? Because homeopathic
remedies increase the vital force of the body so that it can heal
itself, dealing with the cause of the headache, usually by
identifying an imbalance in our mental / emotional state. A
product from the market, while effective in relieving the
symptoms of the
headache, in reality cause suppression of the symptoms and do not
address the root cause at all.
Flower
essences and gem essences are another vibrational healing
modality. Each flower and gem essence embodies a particular
energy frequency. You could think of this pure energy as
being electrical in nature. During the preparation of flower
and gem remedies the water’s molecular structure is charged and
imprinted with the electrical pattern of the flowers or gems
vibrational essence, by using the energy of the sun. I like to
think of this vibrational energy as
pure
consciousness capable of providing gentle energetic
healing patterns. Although many parts of a plant are used for
healing; roots, bark, leaves, and seeds, it is in the flower where
the vibrational energy is the strongest. Preparing flower
essences into homeopathic potencies always releases more energy
and gets closer to the basic energy and life force pattern within
each flower. Dr. Edward Bach creator of Bach Flower Remedies
said this about flower essences:
“The
actions of certain flowers, shrubs, and trees, that grow in the
wild raise our vibrations and open our channels for the reception
of the Spiritual Self to flood our natures with the particular
virtue we need, and wash out from us the fault that is causing the
harm. They are able, like beautiful music or any glorious
uplifting thing that gives us inspiration, to raise our very
natures to bring us nearer to our Souls, and by that very act
bring us peace and relieve our sufferings. They cure not by
attacking the disease, but by flooding our bodies with the
beautiful vibrations of our higher nature, in the presence of
which disease melts away as snow in the sunshine. There is
no true healing unless there is a change in outlook, peace of
mind, and inner happiness.”
Flower and gem essences are non-toxic, and they don’t interfere
with other medications or healing modalities. They are
self-adjusting which means you won’t experience aggravations if
you take the wrong remedy like you would if you took the wrong
homeopathic remedy. Flower essences work on
all levels of the
human energy field, which make them the deepest acting of all
vibrational medicines. This means they address physical,
emotional, and spiritual issues. Gem essences work up into the
higher vibrational energy fields but may not cover as much
energetic “territory”. Homeopathic remedies work on the
energy fields closest to our bodies, which make them so effective
at healing our physical imbalances.
Gem essences stimulate healing in the body upon the principals of
resonancy or harmony and vibration. All things are in a
constant state of vibration and in a constant system of harmonics
and resonancy. The crystalline structures contained within
gemstones have a molecular pattern that acts as a frequency to
amplify our vibration.
Today my vibrational healing practice includes herbs, homeopathic
remedies, flower essences, gem essences, color therapy, nutrition,
and hands on healing. Vibrational healing can use one method
or a combination of vibrational healing modalities.
To pull
all of this information together I will take you through a
simplified
consultation with fictitious client “Kate” who recently had a
kidney infection and is concerned about a recurrence. While
Kate explains her illness I hear her disappointment and shame
about being ill. She feels like she takes good care of
herself and is “embarrassed” that she had a kidney infection.
I know that we hold criticism, disappointment, failure, shame, and
reacting like a little kid in our kidneys. The function of
the kidneys is to excrete urine and help regulate the water,
electrolyte, and acid-based content of the blood. The
kidneys represent purification and a clearing of negative
emotions. Problems with our kidneys can mean we have more
emotions to clear out than we can handle, or that we feel
overwhelmed or unable to deal with certain emotions in general.
Our kidneys absorb energy through the third chakra, which oversees
our discernment, assimilation, reclaiming the right to be an
individual and how we react to what others throw our way.
Flower essences that fit Kate’s profile are Eucalyptus “the
flower of purification” which has a liberating effect
and helps one to accept life as it is. Crab Apple "the
flower of self-cleansing” used for self disgust, self
hate, or someone who is ashamed of their ailments
and Pine
“the flower of self –
acceptance” which is used for guilt complexes, blaming
self for mistakes of others, or someone who is always apologizing.
These three essences can be combined into a dosage bottle and
taken 3-4 times throughout the day. A standard dose is 4 drops.
You can also put the drops in your water bottle to enjoy every
vibrant sip. The duration of this flower therapy will depend
on how Kate feels on a mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
We would re evaluate after two weeks.
A Gem essence combo containing calcite that stimulates the kidneys
on a cellular level and jade, which cleanses the blood and helps
remove toxins from the kidneys would also be effective and can be
used after the flower essences therapy is complete. The dose
would be 3-4 times a day for 30 days.
Flower and gem essences can
be combined, but if your are new to this type of
healing modality then taking single remedies will allow you to
“feel” the subtle changes, and you will be aware of what’s moving
(working) and what’s not. I have found wonderful results
using affirmations with flower essences to reinforce positive
messages and bring focused
attention to areas in our life that need healing. Here are
affirmations I have selected for Kate. She can choose one,
all, or write her own, whatever resonates for her.
From Louise Hay’s Heal Your
Body”
“Divine right action is always taking place in my life. Only good
comes from each experience. It is safe to grow up.”
Bach flower affirmation for crab apple “I accept my
imperfections. I love my body. I cleanse myself of any toxicity or
disharmonious energy”
Bach flower affirmation for pine “I release all guilt. I love
and accept myself”
These remedies aren’t going to make Kate’s disappointment and
shame magically disappear but they can help bring awareness to
areas in her life and ease the intensity of her disappointment and
shame. To address the third chakra aspect of healing, Kate
is taught techniques to stay “grounded” which means to “be here
now” in the present moment by connecting with the earth and her
physical body, daily meditation, journaling and working with shame
issues. These are just a few examples of many exercises and
specialized techniques to available balance each chakra.
Keep in mind that everyone has their own unique issues and
imbalances that are best dealt with on an individualized basis.
From a classical homeopathic viewpoint an individual’s emotional
makeup and appearance, as well as physical symptoms are grouped
according to “constitutional types”. I determine through the
interview that Kate’s homeopathic constitutional type is
Phosphorus. Phosphorus individuals are expressive, effervescent,
imaginative, artistic, and love to be the center of attention.
They can be indifferent to family and friends. When they are
unwell they need lots
of sympathy. Their physical appearance is tall, usually slim, and
well proportioned. Dark or fair-haired with fine pale skin
that flushes easily and they dress with flair and flamboyance.
This really just skims the surface but you get the idea. The
homeopathic remedy phosphorus is for anxiety and fear, circulatory
problems, digestive disorders, lungs and respiratory issues, and
ailments with burning pain.
Homeopathic remedies; are usually used to increase and strengthen
one’s life force, also called vital force or vibration. This
becomes very complex to explain because in homeopathic medicine
there a many ways to treat an individual based on
the totality of their symptoms.
In this case, treating from a
classical homeopathy viewpoint, the remedy phosphorus
will be useful to increase Kate’s life force after recovering from
an illness. She can take this along with the flower essences.
Another branch of homeopathy, called gemmotherapy, is comprised of
homeopathic remedies made from embryonic plant material; fresh
plant buds, young leaves or rootlets with the therapeutic
objective of homeopathic drainage. Homeopathic drainage addresses
the eliminative organs by decreasing built up toxins by
stimulating the function of the organ. In this case, the
homeopathic drainage remedies vitis vinifera and pinus montana
could be used to stimulate and raise the vital force of her
kidneys. If Kate’s kidney ailments were chronic this could
be an effective option. **note** kidney infections can be the
result of toxic damage, as in this case, where a gemmotherapy
remedy is appropriate. Kidney infections can also occur from
bacteria spreading upward from the bladder or from autoimmune
syndromes.
Herbs can also play a part in this therapy. Bearberry, echinacea
and yarrow are all great anti microbials that can be used to
prevent infection. These herbs aren’t very flavorful but any one
of them could be combined with peppermint for a tasty tea.
Hands on Healing therapy involves facilitating the movement of
energy through the physical body, human energy field and chakra
system. It's beneficial for everyone. I started out
practicing Reiki and was introduced to, and now practice,
Shamballa Multi Dimensional Healing. My dear friend Phyllis
Brooks of Taliloquay Flower Essences explains it best:
“Shamballa is Love. Reiki is Love. Shamballa is the natural
outgrowth of Reiki, for those who are not afraid of change, for
those who wish to grow and expand their consciousness, for those
who are focused on enlightenment rather than healing powers.
Shamballa is Reiki to the 10th degree—and more. It opens up
channels to carry the highest vibration of Love & Light available
on the planet.
Meditation is the ability to be silent, the silence that allows us
to hear and connect with our higher self. Meditation is a
kind, loving, gentle gift we can give ourselves to begin and end
our day, although it can be done anytime, anywhere, with
simplicity or great ritual.
Visualization is the art of imagining. Einstein called
imagination the most important element in the universe. It is
through visualization that we create our present.
